About SAHMS
The organizers of the Southern Association for the History of Medicine and Science held the first conference in 1999.
SAHMS continues Prof. L. Margaret Barnett's (University of Southern Mississippi) original mission to promote awareness at colleges and universities in the South of the importance and usefulness of the history of medicine and science.
This conference is aimed at providing a means for exchange and sharing of research, ideas, and interest related to the history of medicine, science, and technology.
